Watonga Chamber of Commerce worked with the OSU Extension  Service, the Blaine County Conservation District, the Central North Canadian River Conservation District, the Cimmaron Valley Conservation District, the Okeene Chamber of Commerce, the Geary Chamber of Commerce and the Canton Chamber of Commerce to sponsor the Blaine County Ag Banquet where four farm familes were recognized as farmer/rancher of the year and five farm families honored as Blaine County Ag Hall of Fame.

Watonga Chamber was in charge of decorations.  They chose the theme 'Agriculture - Working in all Seasons".  One-fourth of the tables were decorated with spring-type items such as bird houses and new plants, some tables was decorated with snowmen and snowflakes, more tables was decorated with red/white/blue indicating summer time activities and other tables was decorated with fall flowers.  The message in the decorating was that farmers must work no matter what the weather.  Old news articles about difficult weather were scattered among the tables.
